ABOUT THE PTA

We are really fortunate to have an active PTA at John Betts that is an integral part of the school community. 

The PTA is not just about raising money for new equipment and upgrades, but also about supporting the provision of an education that has the children at the heart of it. The PTA provides strong links between home and school - bringing the John Betts community together to support the children’s education.

All families, carers and staff are automatically members of the John Betts PTA - and we would love as many people to be as involved as possible. Whether you have a great fundraising idea, can help out at events, or simply join in and enjoy what’s organised - we’re so happy to have you on board :)

The 2023-24 PTA Committee

Of course, all of this does need a bit of organising and managing, which is where the PTA Committee comes in:

  • James Fitzgerald (Y2)

The PTA Committee works with Miss Mair, the Headteacher, to understand the needs of the school and adapt fundraising plans to achieve what is required. Each year the amount of money raised will vary depending on the current needs. 

PTA Event & Fundraising Team

We have Class Reps for every year group - who as well as organising parent’s involvement in the classroom, are also tasked with finding volunteers for PTA events such as the Christmas and Summer Fairs.

We also have a team of Official PTA Cheerleaders ready to step in and support with events, managing the bar and much, much more.  We totally understand that life is varied and you can’t commit your time all year round, which is why we have an army of people to help out - as and when they can, not every single time.
